ABC Model for REBT

Rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT)—a form of CBT—uses the ABC model to explain the interaction between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Because teaching the model is a key component of REBT, having an easy-to-understand diagram is an invaluable tool.

If you regularly practice REBT, we suggest printing a copy of this worksheet for your wall. We were careful to leave plenty of blank space to allow you to write out examples under each stage while you work with your client.

Watch our video describing the ABC model if you would like yet another tool to help with psychoeducation.
