Countering Anxiety (Thought Log)

worksheet

Thought logs are a core component of CBT. Clients are asked to recognize thoughts and experiences that elicit an unwanted response (in this case, anxiety), and then to record another rational response to that situation. This particular thought log provides an example related to anxiety.

Use this worksheet to help your clients practice generating alternative ways to look at a single event. How would they feel and behave differently if their thoughts were different?
