Many people struggle to describe their feelings. They may be at a complete loss of words, or they may recognize the basic emotion but struggle to be more specific.
Our Feelings Wheel worksheet helps clients name their feelings and improve their emotional vocabulary. Start by choosing a core emotion at the center of the wheel and then move outward to emotions that are increasingly nuanced.
The wheel also shows the connections between different emotions. For example, although “angry” and “afraid” are different, they sit side-by-side to show their close relationship.
Use the Feelings Wheel to spark exploration and pinpoint complicated feelings. Or hang it on a wall as a fun and colorful conversation piece.
