Coping Skills: Anxiety

The Coping Skills: Anxiety worksheet describes four strategies for reducing anxiety. Strategies include deep breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, imagery, and challenging irrational thoughts. These coping strategies can help your clients deal with anxiety when it arises, as well as contributing to long-term anxiety relief.

This worksheet includes a brief description and instructions on how to perform each skill. After these skills are taught in session, encourage your clients to practice at home. The more they practice, the easier and more effective the skills will become. This worksheet is a great tool for your clients to take home and use a refresher for the techniques they learned in session.
